Many of us may feel unsatisfied with our lives right now. It may be more effective to adjust your psychological "BASELINE" in order to compare the reality you now live in with what you perceive to
be normal. Examine and accept the current state
of things, leaving behind the setbacks and challenging situations you met, rather than being stuck and wishing the world to look like you want
it to.
Accepting reality as it is and letting go of it might help you reset your baseline, which in some situations can greatly enhance your attitude.
If your baseline reflects how the world was before something was just lost, or how you would like
it to be, it really hurts less.
You can and should work to improve reality while accepting the facts of how the world now is.
The ability to bear the reality of the status of the world as it stands and the fact that not everything significant has been lost helps. There are probably still many things of worth that exist. ACCEPTANCE
is a difficult mental movement.
When you have thoughts like 'I can't take this', or 'why me?'... acknowledge them, but don't dwell on them, instead, let them pass. This doesn't prevent you from doing wisely but simply helps you face reality.
Reflecting on the world as it really is and
attempting to experience the emotion of acceptance could make it easier for you to accept reality's facts rather than trying to fight against them. Acceptance merely makes dealing with reality easier, it doesn't prevent you from attempting to make things better. It's best to not put off feeling sad because the loss
has already happened, nevertheless, if you put off feeling sad, you can end up hurting yourself worse.
Reminding yourself that not everyone has the advantages you do, that you might not have had what you currently have, or that it won't last forever, will cause the actual to appear as a gift rather than as merely neutral. When making
choices that could have an impact on your future, take into account the status of your baseline, which represents your reality at the time. This will help you to catch any recent changes you may have overlooked.
As a last suggestion, I suggest changing your
baseline to reflect your reality by being accepting and grateful. Make the adjustment that the globe appears to be in a better position than you may
have previously believed.
Forget the past, but hold on to the lessons it taught you.
