Does my skill set need to be more diverse or specialised?


My answer to this in my opinion is, specialisation is the acquisition of high levels of expertise or knowledge in a certain topic, however in the modern world, it's

important to exercise caution when pursuing specialisation in either your professional or personal life.


Specialisation in well-defined fields used to provide a direct route to success. However, as the world evolves, specialism is beginning to break down. Now is the time to combine different skill sets and integrate information from seemingly unrelated fields in this disturbed environment.


Again, a question was thrown at me… 


However, sir, why the change? 


Well, innovation and technological advancement in the modern day require brains capable of navigating ambiguity and making cross-disciplinary connections.

The most valued brains are those that combine different subjects and skill sets.


In order to adapt and stay relevant in a quickly changing world, skill diversification entails broadening your horizons by studying a range of talents and developing different abilities across multiple sectors. This will help you bridge gaps in knowledge by bringing unique ideas, innovation, and diverse knowledge.
